 The IGFA recently announced its 9th year of the IGFA World Championship Circuit, an invitational fishing competition that draws anglers from all over the world. This championship series includes the IGFA Inshore World Championship and the IGFA Offshore World Championship. Qualifying tournaments must be approved by the IGFA Selection Committee. Winners of these events will then be invited to compete in the Championship Tournaments.
A great deal of publicity has been generated because these competitions represent winners of inshore and offshore tournaments from all over the world that have competed in a tournament promoted by IGFA. This invitational competition is a prestigious event for both the qualifying tournaments and anglers because of its unique nature and IGFA's global reputation.
For those of us who cherish our time spent in the Florida Keys - as well as some world class fishing, you may want to head down to Islamorada Sunday July 8th for the beginning of an outstanding 4-day tournament featuring the best-of-the-best inshore saltwater anglers. Here is the tentative 2007 schedule of events:
Sunday, July 8 Guest arrivals and check-ins. Silent Auction Opens.2 p.m. – 5.30 p.m. Angler & Guide registration at Islander Resort’s Bonefish Bay Meeting Room.
6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Captains and anglers meeting and boat draw at south beach of Islander Resort. Refreshments compliments of Bacardi.
7 p.m. – 10 p.m. For dinner the chefs at the Islander Resort will prepare a variety of delicious dishes featuring a succulent dinner served under the moon and stars. Sponsored by Mercury. Anglers, Guests and Guides
Monday, July 9 1st Day of Fishing6 a.m. Breakfast available adjacent to World Wide Sportsman dock, provided by Islamorada Fish Co. Anglers may leave dock at 6:30 a.m.
Lines in at 7 a.m.
Lines out at 3 p.m.
3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Angler check-in. Appetizers compliments of Zane Grey Lounge and World Wide Sportsman. Refreshments by Bacardi.
7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Cocktails and Dinner at the Zane Grey Lounge at World Wide Sportsman, sponsored by World Wide Sportsman and Zane Grey Lounge. Anglers, Guests and Guides.
Tuesday, July 10 2nd Day of Fishing6 a.m. Breakfast available adjacent to World Wide Sportsman dock, provided by Islamorada Fish Co.
Anglers may leave dock at 6:30 a.m.
Lines in at 7 a.m.
Lines out at 3 p.m.

Wednesday, July 11 Final Day of Fishing6 a.m. Breakfast available adjacent to World Wide Sportsman dock, provided by Islamorada Fish Co.

Lines out at 3 p.m.

7 p.m. – 11 p.m. Awards dinner Islander Resort's south beach. Come and celebrate the week’s accomplishments “Island Style”. Enjoy spit roasted prime rib and seafood delicacies under the swaying palms and stars. Refreshments by Bacardi. Anglers, Guests and Guides.
